Two female Mexican students, Roxana Galilea and Reyna Guadalupe, won first place in a national science fair (Expo Ciencia Nacional 15) using App Inventor. Their prototype app, Digi Voz Sistem, can recognize voice commands and transmit them through Bluetooth to an Arduino microprocessor to open doors, turn lights on and off, and even start up a car. The two students agree that this project has positively changed their lives. Both are now considering careers in the science and technology fields. They are excited and proud to represent Mexico at the International event, CIENCAP, that will take place in Asuncion, Paraguay in 2016.
This is another wonderful example of the amazing things young people are creating with App Inventor. We wish Roxana and Reyna the best of luck in Paraguay.
